Description and FunctionsOpen Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse ready to provide excellent healthcare services. The Wyoming Retirement Center is a long-term care facility. This position requires an RN to provide quality health care to persons with mental health, dementia, and medical needs in a home-like setting.   • Provides professional nursing services in chronic as well as acute care settings.
  • Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons.
  • Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Assists with ADL (Activities of Daily Living).
  • Trains and assigns work to LPNs and CNAs.
QualificationsPREFERENCES:Although preference may be given to those individuals who have six (6) months of experience in a long-term care setting, new graduates are welcome to apply.KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, techniques of professional nursing, and Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations.
  • Knowledge of medication administration and mathematical calculations for the correct dosage.
  • Knowledge of the aging process, medical problems, diseases, and behavioral issues.
  • Knowledge of work management and leadership theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to healthcare.
  • Knowledge of and ability to function and make decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Knowledge of skills necessary to use good oral and written communication skills to articulate thoughts and medical terminology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)Experience:0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPNCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WyomingOREducation & Experience Substitution:3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPNCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WyomingNecessary Special RequirementsPHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Lift/transfer persons in our care to different positions.
  • Lift persons and/or medical equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
  • Work holidays, evenings, nights, and /or weekends as scheduled.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 5 shifts per month. (Shifts are 12 hours)
NOTES:
  • FLSA: Non-exempt.
  • The position is part-time.
  • For the health and protection of the persons in our care, annual influenza vaccination is required also an annual testing for tuberculosis.
  • Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19.
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.

  • One year of service in the position must be completed. Failure to complete this requirement will require reimbursement of the bonus with the funds deducted from the final pay.
  • Internal candidates will be required to remain in the position for a minimum of (1) year from the promotion date.
  • Employees will only be eligible for (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
