Join a family-run social care provider as one of the senior members of our management team in our growing Morecambe branch. This role is for a Deputy Manager in our Homecare division.

  • Salary: £34320 - £35220 (based on 40 hours at £14.25 per hour plus enhancements, ie on-call responsibilities)

As Deputy Manager for our Homecare service, you will be overseeing and ensuring our high standards are carried out. Our Homecare division, supports people with elderly needs, end of life, and those who have Learning Disability or mental health needs.What does the role involve?Our ideal candidate is a brilliant team player who loves challenges and takes their work seriously. You must be self-motivated, and well-organised, plus you will need empathy, respect and excellent communication skills. You will also work with the manager of the branch to ensure we are delivering a safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led service.We operate a 24 hour service so your working hours will need to be flexible. Your working hours can fall between 7am-11pm including alternate weekends and being part of our On call rota.All roles at Specialist Care Team are client-focused, where you will lead in areas such as support planning, staff development and risk management. You will spend time working alongside clients so you understand their needs and make sure they are being met.You will also help to manage our team of team leaders and field care supervisors, to ensure they are managing their own caseloads and ensuring service users' needs are being met to the highest standard and that people are able to lead fulfilling lives with freedom and choice.Primary responsibilities include:
  • Welcoming new clients to the service, which includes completing assessments and care plans
  • Planning, co-ordinating and scheduling the service for clients (including keeping care plans up to date)
  • Establishing a personal connection with clients (and their team members) to ensure they are happy and content with the service
  • Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the wellbeing of service users
  • Work in co-operation with professionals to maximise opportunities for people in the service
  • Providing leadership to front-line care staff through appraisals
  • Inducting and assessing new staff members to ensure they're compatible and have the skills and knowledge to work with your clients
  • Ability to adapt and address situations quickly
  • Working out-of-hours through on-call duties that are shared with other team members
What qualifications and experience do you need?
  • You should have experience of managing clients and/or staff in a care setting, whether this is as a team leader, field care supervisor, care coordinator or manager.
  • We are looking for a customer-focused person who has a commitment to quality of care while achieving business objectives
  • You will be able to plan, implement and assess ideas to improve the lives of our service users
  • It is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a car
