Nature of WorkUnder general supervision of a Senior Program Specialist, the candidate will be responsible for the administration of one or more federal or state grant-in-aid programs. This may be with the Criminal Justice System in general or there may be an emphasis in a particular arena of the Criminal Justice system. This emphasis may include but is not limited to Victim Advocacy, Victim Assistance, Community Corrections, Child Advocacy, Law Enforcement Programs, Criminal History Improvement, Civil Legal Services or other facets of the Criminal Justice System. Administration of a grant program may include 1.) coordination with committees and related work groups; 2.) assisting in reviewing sub-grant applications for completeness and accuracy; 3.) reviewing of sub-grant goals and objectives for a form of measurement and evaluation; 4.) develop or update uniform sub-grant monitoring reports that cover all aspects of the administration of a grant; 5.) on and off-site monitoring of grant program activities; 6.) providing technical assistance to sub-grantees as requested and complete a report after each visit; 7.) maintain statistical data on the sub-grants from the above-mentioned grant programs; 8.) maintain current knowledge of state, federal and agency rules which govern the above-mentioned programs; 9.) attend national state workshops and trainings on the above-mentioned programs, and perform related tasks as required; 10.) program evaluation utilizing evaluation tools.Travel may or may not be involved depending on the arenas of assignment, both in state and out of state, for this position.All candidates will be subject to a criminal history background check and must possess a valid West Virginia Driver's License.
