  • Develop basic, routine conceptual designs and cost estimates.
  • Provide maintenance support across all the building trades for the operation of facilities, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds at the Starfire Optical Range.
  • Align designs and facility upgrades with customer requirements, building codes, and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials.
  • Assist others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies.
  • Develop basic, routine analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods such as life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, ...
  • Assist others to implement routine improvements in asset effectiveness, availability, and maintainability and to specify configuration of new assets in order to support reliability programs.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance program to extend the life of facility assets.
  • Assist in ensuring accuracy of drawing archives and libraries by reviewing contractor redlines.
  • Document construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements.
  • Support construction projects by providing input on vendor selection, reviewing contractor proposals, interfacing with regulatory agencies, monitoring project progress and vendor performance.
  • Contribute to providing input to infrastructure planning, completing studies, analyzing current conditions and future requirements, recommending capital improvements, gathering and analyzing data, and working with internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts.
  • Implement and review safety plans in alignment with OSHA regulations.
  • Handles the Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste program at the site.
All work is performed onsite in Kirtland AFB, NM.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. TS/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical), architecture, or construction management.
  • 1+ years of experience working in operations, facilities management, maintenance, manufacturing, construction projects and/or project management
  • 1+ years of experience working with architectural/facilities design and process
  • Willing to work a variable shift.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Familiarization with OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarization with hazardous materials and waste regulations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Operation of forklift, boom lift, or scissors lift.
