In leading the revenue accounting efforts, including the preparation of all journal entries and account reconciliations related to SaaS revenue recognition, this role will partner extensively with the controllership function as well as with cross-functional teams.Responsibilities· Manages the month-end revenue close and reporting process for revenue, accounts receivable, allowance and deferred revenue to validate a complete, accurate, and timely revenue close in accordance with Thryv’s revenue recognition policies under ASC 606.· Reviews all revenue related journal entries, flux analyses, and account reconciliations timely and in accordance with relevant internal controls and team expectations with the highest level of integrity. Performs or reviews account analyses by analyzing and explaining business drivers of revenue related account variances, documenting variance explanations compared to prior periods.· Manages the day-to-day activities of revenue accounting, with a focus on process improvements, automation and analysis of results to support scalability and growth. Adds capacity for technical analytics and the creation and review of process metrics.· Coordinates cross functionally with business stakeholders to ensure proper knowledge sharing, including with technical accounting to ensure new product offerings are reviewed for performance obligations; Works in partnership with technical accounting and controls and systems teams to ensure revenue processes meet applicable GAAP and controls requirements.· Supports identification and implementation of change initiatives and process improvements aligned with changing business needs; Collaborates with controls and systems team to implement process improvements to drive ongoing efficiencies and automation, including reporting enhancement initiatives related to the order-to-cash process.· Supports internal and external audits for order to cash lifecycle by efficiently maintaining records and preparing required documentation.· Assists with ad-hoc order to cash projects or duties, as assigned, including integration efforts as needed.Who We’re Looking For· Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited university, required.· CPA, required.· Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Accounting from an accredited university, preferred.· 5+ years of related experience including relevant SME experience in rapid growth environments such as progressive public accounting (Big-4 or equivalent), technology (SaaS) industry, publicly traded multi-national companies, and organizations with multiple products and revenue streams, required.· 9+ years of related experience, preferred.· Recurly and Workday Financials experience a plus.· Proficient working knowledge of Robotic Process Automation tools (SQL, Alteryx), preferred.· Subject matter expert technical and industry knowledge of ASC 606 with an understanding of accounting and reporting procedures, internal controls, technical accounting, US GAAP and IFRS and SEC disclosure rules; SaaS Revenue experience.· Analytical skills in navigating detailed system-generated source reports, downloading and manipulating and/or reviewing large amounts of data with controls mindset.· Track record of refining order to cash related activities to reduce close timeline.· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively work cooperatively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, problem solving, and results.· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including V-lookups, functions, and pivot tables required with the ability to optimize the use of technologies, tools, and systems. Proficient working knowledge of Alteryx, SQL desired.· Organized, strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical with high attention to detail; Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines, operating independently with minimal daily direction.· Continuous improvement mindset, mental agility required. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, manage competing priorities, changes, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Learns quickly when facing new problems, a relentless and versatile learner.
