Arcadia is seeking a professional and personable Front-of-House Dining Room Supervisor who possesses a genuine desire to lead a team that is committed to delivering high-quality service.
As Front-of-House Dining Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating events and creating a positive dining experience. Additionally, you will interact directly with families and guests to ensure that the Dining Team exceeds their expectations.The responsibilities, characteristics, and skillsets below are just a glimpse into the role, and we hope you’ll apply to learn more if you believe you’re a great fit!Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Dining Room Supervisor will include
  • Maintaining warm, hospitable relations in all guest contacts, while operating within budgeted guidelines.
  • Promoting customer engagement activities
  • Interacting with residents during mealtimes to monitor resident satisfaction or concerns about food service and developing plans to address as appropriate.
  • Ensuring high quality service is provided to the residents in the dining room.
  • Maintaining sanitation and controlling standards in the dining room and wait stations.
  • Ensuring standards of cleanliness, hygiene, proper attire, and health standards are always maintained by the dining team.
  • Keeping current with industry trends through vendor shows and industry periodicals.
  • Operating in compliance with State and Federal government laws.
  • Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and image of self and subordinates.
  • Communicating effectively between departments and corporate personnel.
  • Conducting and attending regular department meetings.
  • Maintaining positive employee relations, in a supportive environment through corporate incentives.
  • Overseeing the coordination of catering, banquets, and activities.
  • Monitoring and evaluating food quality for presentation, temperature and serving portion size. Providing leadership and communicating with food production team for adjustments and sharing resident feedback.
  • Monitoring and evaluating table service adequacy for timing, etiquette, and thoroughness; providing service hospitality training and adjustments as appropriate.

A successful addition to the team will be an individual whose creativity shines while planning catering, special events, and holiday parties. Candidates must have prior scheduling experience and familiarity with point-of-sale systems, catering and event experience is a plus. Most importantly candidates must treat others with respect and approach them in a tactful manner.While we support continued learning and enrichment, and celebrate a culture that encourages learning new skills, there are base level requirements for this position that include but are not limited to:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One (1) year previous food service experience
  • One (1) year supervisory and management experience
  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population
  • Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles, and interests
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
