- Prepare supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases, ensuring that all necessary items are available and ready for use.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures, proactively providing instruments and assistance as required.
- Assist in all aspects of surgical procedures, maintaining awareness of the surgical field and responding to the requests of the surgical team.
- Take responsibility for case cleanup, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly disposed of or sterilized after use.
- Assist with patient positioning and transportation, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
- Contribute to room turnovers, preparing the operating room for the next procedure and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Demonstrated communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
