GEICO is seeking a very experienced Product/Program Manager with a passion for managing complex programs across multiple departments and teams to join our Finance Systems team as a Senior Staff Operations Engineer. You will integral in driving teams of engineers with a deep focus on delivering enterprise-wide products. As the Senior Staff Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, prioritizing, and leading implementations within the Finance Technology domain. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in applying project management skills and strong Finance business knowledge while collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders at different levels to ensure timely delivery of impactful projects.Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Staff Engineering Operations within the Finance Technologies area, you will:Partner with the project sponsor, delivery team, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.Create, maintain, and actively manage a detailed project schedule, change control process, and documentation.Work with your Snr Director to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate incremental delivery dates for milestones with the stakeholder community, and deliver projects on timeIdentify and raise appropriate project risks, in addition to presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternativesUnderstand how requirements and design choices may impact systems across multiple areasReport on your team’s progress for project and other key metrics, in addition to presenting detailed and implementable ideas for areas to further improve or influence product or project deliveryLeverage your knowledge of operational and LEAN practices/principles to streamline organizational and team processes to increase efficiency and effectivenessPrior Financial Services Industry experience is required, with a solid understanding of the functional and technical aspects of ERP applicationsCoordinate project activities across multiple systems, departments, and teams.Leverage your knowledge of Finance systems to drive towards the right solution to support the department and GEICO’s current and future needsEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.Leverage experience with various ERPs (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Hyperion; Workday; or SAP) to enhance existing applications or build new ones to support GEICO’s Finance organizationLeverage your deep understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Management Reporting to drive solutions to meet business requirementsCollaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve our toughest problemsWork with your leadership to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate incremental delivery dates for milestones with the stakeholder communityIdentify and raise appropriate project risks, in addition to presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternativesUnderstand how requirements and design choices may impact systems across multiple areasReport on progress of the program/project and other key metrics to align leadership and staffPresent detailed and implementable ideas for areas to further improve or influence product or project deliveryPerform process engineering through the review, refinement and improvement of existing processes and manage the improvements to completion without jeopardizing tactical deliveryConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsAnalyze cost and forecast, incorporating them into business plansFacilitate agreement among all technical teams regarding technical solutions. Assure all system design issues are identified, tracked, and resolved on a timely basis.Perform ad hoc research and analysis to ensure requirements are identified, tracked, and metQualificationsStrong program and project management skills with proven experience coordinating projects across multiple teams, with successful project/product delivery at scaleDeep Finance domain expertise to be able to interpret Finance requirements into system solutionsStrong understanding of Accounting process; Management reporting philosophies; and cross-finance practices to ensure data, integrations, and solutions are well designedDetail and deadline oriented with effective organizational and analytic skillsStrong critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and analytical skillsExperience or certification in LEAN principles and practicesOutstanding time management skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document findings, proposals, issues, and statusAbility to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and FinanceExperience with continuous deliveryExperience solving analytical problems with quantitative approachesAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentSelf-motivated and able to work independently while coordinating activities with cross-divisional teamsEffective leadership qualities, ability to influence without direct management authorityExperience managing conflict to achieve project goalsTransparency with management and stakeholdersMust be able to work both independently and in a team environmentProven ability to multi-task is a fast-paced environmentStrong experience of using ADO is highly recommendedExperience12+ years of experience in managing large-scale Finance Systems projectsPMI/PMP or Scrum certifiedExcellent understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies10+ years in working with industry leading ERP solutions (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Hyperion; Workday; or SAP)10+ years of experience in Product Management, Project Management, or equivalentEducationBachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience#LI-MK1Annual Salary $120,000.00 - $261,500.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
