Our Staff Engineer is a lead member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. You will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities. The ideal candidate will work with our Distinguished Engineer and Sr. Engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve, and enhance existing systems, and identify new opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical problems.Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Engineer, you will:Design, develop, and maintain micro-services-based applicationsDesign, test, and promote platform automation solutions using DevOps and CICD practicesAccountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutionsPublish documentation sets for runbooks, as built, and design referenceDevelop and maintain processes and workflows using automation to improve quality and efficiencyDrive deployment process and infrastructure managementIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks and conduct capacity planningImplement performance testing and optimization strategiesDevelop and maintain strategic roadmaps for network platforms and servicesCollaborate with IT teams, including but not limited to Developers, System and Network Administrators, Database Architects, Infrastructure, Technical Operations, and Security teams for continuous support and improvementOwn complete solution across its entire life cycleLead in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationUtilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesTriage, analyze, and perform root cause analysis for automation related issuesProvide 24/7 operations support for production and other critical environmentsDevOps multi-tasking with clear communication skillsDevelop, test, and deploy Spring boot applicationsQualificationsKnowledge of common application architectures and communications protocolsUnderstanding of programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShellProficiency in automated testingExperience with streaming and messaging systems such as KafkaExperience using LinuxStrong programming skills with languages such as Python, Java, and C++Proficient with container technologies like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.Ability to work with nested data structures like JSON, XML, YAMLAbility to work with APIs and database query languages such as SQLKnowledge of common network architectures and communications protocols is desiredUnderstanding of network security principles and best practices is desiredExperience in public cloud infrastructure is desiredStrong problem-solving abilityStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentExperience6+ years of professional experience in software development, platform architecture, administration, governance, infrastructure management, installation, and maintenance of the hardware, software, and network systems4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud serviceEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience#LI-RP2#DICEAnnual Salary $110,000.00 - $236,500.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
