A role you will loveAs the US Privacy Officer, you'll be a senior member of the global Privacy team and report to the Global Privacy Officer. You'll be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the US Privacy Program to enable compliance with applicable Federal, State, and international privacy laws and regulations.You'll work with all US business verticals and levels within Computershare to provide guidance on privacy regulations and promote awareness and understanding of the US Privacy Policy to all US Computershare employees.Other key responsibilities include:
  • Maintenance of polices and procedures within the US Privacy Program
  • Monitoring for industry and regulatory changes and developments US and Global data privacy, ensuring new privacy legislation is appropriately considered in the regulatory change process, and partners and supports the business lines to implement
  • Supporting the business in response to client questions and contract language related to data privacy
  • Engaging with major business projects to provide Privacy SME support
  • The development and review of Privacy Impact Assessments related to new internal processes, changes to internal processes, and vendor relationships
  • Developing and delivering initial and ongoing US privacy training and communications
What will you bring to the role?You are truly passionate about doing the right thing. You excel at resolving complex problems by identifying and providing solutions through the application of acquired privacy experience. You also have excellent communication and organizational skills. You possess both tact and diplomacy when dealing with challenging clients, regulatory authorities, or sensitive issues.You'll also bring:
  • 10+ years' related privacy experience within a regulated environment
  • 5+ years' experience in data privacy compliance
  • Strong knowledge of US Federal and State privacy regulations (e.g. HIPAA, CPRA) and international data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR)
Bonus points if you have:
  • CIPP/US or CIPP/M certification from the International Association of Privacy Professions (IAPP)
  • Knowledge of EU/UK privacy regulations

This base pay range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
