Required Clearance: SecretStrategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) seeks a Senior Science and Technology (S&T) Analyst to support DoD basic research, social science programs and priorities aimed toward ensuring the DoD is a leader in scientific discovery and identifying new paths for investigation.This is a hybrid position. On-site work, approximately two days per month, with our government clients in the Mark Center of Alexandria, VA is anticipated and subject to change. Telework options are available within the Washington, DC commuting area.As a Senior S&T Analyst for Social Sciences, you will:
  • Assist in program oversight and coordination activities related to defense basic research.
  • Maintain broad situational awareness of social science needs and integration/transition opportunities across the Department, particularly with the Combatant Commands.
  • Assist in developing connections with the social science research community and professional organizations.
  • Organize research reviews, working group meetings, and user groups.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential reviewers and SMEs and help identify/develop future research descriptions/priorities.
  • Assist in developing international and interagency social and behavioral science collaborations and coordination.
  • Develop technical content and agendas for programmatic reviews and engagements.
  • Provide input for policy formulation through research, analysis, and external coordination.
  • Prepare reports, papers, briefings, memoranda, and other documentation for DoD-wide dissemination.
  • Assist in goal setting for the BRO and provide continuous assessment of program progress toward established goals.
QUALIFICATIONSClearance: An active DoD SECRET clearance is required; TS/SCI is preferred.Education: A master's degree from an accredited college or university in a social science field is required; PhD is preferred.Experience:
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ recent and relevant experience is required.
  • Understanding of the academic/grant writing process through previous experience or independent research is preferred.
  • DoD experience and knowledge of the DoDGARs, the DoD Research Integrity and Misconduct Instruction, and associated government wide statutes, Executive Orders, Office of Management Budget (OMB) and other policies.
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in project management positions supporting the DoD S&T enterprise is desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, unstructured verbal interactions, briefings, and meeting moderation.
  • Ability to work independently with both junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverables and schedules.
