- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Podiatry. If Board Eligible, must be actively working toward Board Certification
- Provides non-surgical podiatric services to prevent and correct injuries, deformities, diseases or improve patient function, appearance, or quality of life.
- Personally evaluate all patients presenting to the APD Podiatric Foot and Ankle Clinic.
- Obtain an appropriate history and physical exam.
- Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and imaging studies.
- Provide appropriate treatment to all patients presenting to the Podiatric Foot and Ankle Clinic who request that treatment be provided.
- Provide consultative and/or second opinion services as requested.
- Obtain consultation as clinically indicated and appropriate.
- Document the history, physical exam, and laboratory and imaging studies as well as treatment in the medical record.
- Obtain appropriate informed consent for all procedures as described in APD Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Policies.
- Complete all inpatient and outpatient hospital records promptly as described in APD Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Policies.
- Communicate with referring practitioners and Primary Care Providers in a timely and collegial manner. Providers who request consultation must receive a written report.
- Review previously ordered laboratory and imaging studies and determine appropriate course of treatment for patient based on results. Communicate results to patients in a timely manner.
- Document all “after-hours” communication with patients.
- Assist with the provision of continuous call coverage for established Podiatric Foot and Ankle Practice patients.
- Assist in providing ER call coverage for unassigned podiatry patients
- Treat all patients and staff with respect.
- Participate in staff education and clinical Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities.
- Attend clinic staff meetings when requested to do so by CMO, VP of Outpatient Services or Practice Director.
- Abide by CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
- Abide by the APD Medical Staff bylaws, Rules and Regulations and policies.
- Abide by all APD policies.
