- Works to develop the platform as a service and application hosting environment aligning them with business strategies and requirements.
- Represents developers and key customers in the product design and lifecycle process.
- Champions the engineering practices and helping teams define and setup frameworks for infrastructure as code and automation.
- Works within the strategy and manages complex technical designs in engineering and operating platform infrastructure.
- Works within the strategy and executes engineering roadmaps around infrastructure as a service; executes strategic engineering proof of concepts around infrastructure platforms.
- Defines and develops new products and services that provides functions- as-a-service to developers and customers, championing a seamless user experience for direct customers.
- Develops a strategy for application and infrastructure monitoring for platforms and applications aligning with enterprise strategy and overall industry trends and direction.
- Maintains the high availability designs and engineering for the different platforms across the company.
- Champions technology and open-source technology internal and external to the company.
- Experience with Cloud and SaaS databases (AWS Document DB, Mongo Atlas, AWS RDS, or Azure Managed Databases, AWS Aurora databases (Postgres))
- Experience with public Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure);
- Experience migrating from MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB to Cloud solutions.
- Able to mentor different teams across the various engineering practices including product mindset, cloud/as-a-service approach, and infrastructure as code.
- Hands-on style - willingness and competent in producing necessary changes in our infrastructure and processes.
- Able to facilitate diverse teams, multi-task, and work under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targets.
- Able to work effectively across organizational and geographical boundaries.
- Identify creative solutions for technical support issues.
- Able to communicate effectively across groups of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to present ideas and solutions.
- DevOps and scripting skills in at least one language (other than Bash), ideally Python and Terraform.
- Demonstrate an ability to bridge technology knowledge gaps between IT staff and corporate staff such as Legal, Compliance and Audit organizations.
- Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver, strong communication skills.
- 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)
- 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- AWS Certified Database Specialty (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Associate (Preferred)
