- Under limited supervision, performs a variety of routine and semiskilled tasks involving general maintenance, planning installations & repair, and supervision of the client exterior grounds including lawns, flower beds, walkways, roadways, parking lots, and related structures/facilities.
- Manage/coordinate/supervise the landscaping, mowing, and snow removal contractor(s). Work with the contractor(s) daily to assure the site will be adequately maintained year-round, especially during major snow/ice events. Some buildings/operations at the LTC are a 24/7 operation.
- Supplement the snowplowing contractor as needed during major snow/ice events. Work may include salting, clearing doorways, snow blowing sidewalks, etc.
- Survey the grounds daily (Mon - Fri) and weekends as needed during snow/ice and special events.
- Assure sidewalks are clear of debris, twigs, etc. before 7:30 am, (Mon - Fri).
- Trim and edge around sidewalks, flower beds, and walls as needed.
- Maintain/weed flower beds as needed.
- Trim trees and prune shrubs as needed.
- Place grass seed, soil, shrubs, and trees. Water as needed..
- Must own vehicle and have a clean driving record.
- Operates power tools and site equipment (snowblower, lawnmowers, edger's, hedge clippers, weed whackers, forklift, aerial lift, blowers, chain saws, etc.). Operation of a high lift/front end loader is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.
- Performs all work in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple projects with a minimum of direction.
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience in grounds maintenance (e.g. landscaping, lawn care, and/or snow removal)
- Strong budgetary, fiscal and expense management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, positive approach to job, and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Knowledge of MS Office products (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong customer service support required.
