- Provide life safety and code analysis, code-compliant asset protection, and fire life safety hazard mitigation solutions.
- Collaborate on solutions from various senior design professionals to establish project specific design criteria.
- Gather historical information including drawings, design reports, and codes.
- Assist in the design of fire suppression systems based on the space and code requirements, and water supply evaluation.
- Assist in the design of fire detection and notification, releasing control panels, off-premises signal reporting, and ancillary system electrical interfaces.
- Perform smoke modeling Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) initial conditions development and scenarios analysis.
- Prepare detailed design drawings mark-ups for CAD staff.
- Using the various applicable Life Safety & Fire codes, best practices, and industry standards, provide calculations, equipment size and quantities, and equipment and construction specifications.
- Perform a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks under senior supervision.
- Generate design specifications of installation projects.
- Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
- With senior engineering supervision, conduct site visits, investigations, and data collection.
- Comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering from a school or university with an accredited engineering program.
- Having passed the Fundamentals in Engineering examination for general engineering, or imminently prepared to.
- Registration as an Engineer In Training, or imminently prepared to.

- Must be able to write clearly and succinctly.
- Pay Range: $70,000-$90,000 annual (depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location)
