- Communicate with inbound drivers
- Verify documentation for product received, Bills of Lading, and receiving documentation (Warehouse receiving documents, purchase orders, date codes, pallet verification report, and receiving exception report)
- Notify Supervisor of major discrepancies, before product is received
- Properly document inbound carriers in Receiving Log
- Post receive purchase orders
- Prepare the Receiving Exception Report daily
- Coordinate with receiver and unloader on priority of Dock Door assignments and driver contact
- Assist with collection of freight handling fees, late delivery fees, check approvals for these amounts and issue receipts
- Compile end of shift receiving/inventory debrief
- Check APT to ensure team members time and performance are accurate
- Properly document outbound trailers in shipping log
- Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies
- Maintain all food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards
- Cross-train to cover Shipping Clerk functions as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus
- Receiving or warehouse experience preferred
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
- Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
- Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
- Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
- Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
- Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
- Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
- Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
- Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.
