Offer DescriptionMSCA Doctoral Network MiFuture "ultra-massive MIMO for future cell-free heterogeneous networks"The European Industrial Doctoral Network “ultra-massive MIMO for future cell-free heterogeneous networks” (MiFuture), funded under the Horizon Europe MSCA call, has started on January 2024. There are 15 positions for PhD candidates to develop their PhD in the institutions funded by the project.The research topics for the offered positions are as follows:1. Waveform design for joint communications and sensing2. Non-coherent approaches for ultra-massive MIMO3. Very low complexity implementations of ultra-massive MIMO4. Channel estimation and tracking aided by positioning5. mm-Wave positioning and sensing for aerial-user applications6. Clutter characterization and cancellation in MIMO sensing via backscattered signals7. AI-native procedures and protocols for Ultra Massive MIMO8. Joint positioning and spatial resource allocation for cell free systems9. Machine Learning methods for Cell-free systems in 6G networks10. Positioning and tracking of non-connected objects for vehicular safety with mmW frequencies11. Extrapolating channel models for ultra-massive MIMO using sparse measurement data12. Sensing bounds and algorithms for perceptive cell-free networks with hybrid intelligent surfaces13. Mid-band channel characterization for joint communication and sensing14. Machine learning based environment awareness for enhanced communication and sensing15.
