We now are looking for a Lead HR & Organisational Development to strengthen our Central Team.Lead HR & Organisational Development (32-40 hours)BackgroundAt Rewilding Europe, we have set ambitious targets for demonstrating large-scale rewilding in our current 10 (soon to be 15) landscapes across the continent. From these showcases we aim to scale up rewilding all over Europe, guided by a shared vision, mission and strategy that we have all committed to. With a fantastic and diverse team of experts and passionate colleagues from all over Europe (28 fte in the Central Team and around 100 fte in our Landscape Teams), we are working together to make this a reality. We have already made great headways, but there is so much more to do!As we have significantly grown in the last years, we have restructured our Finance & Operations team by creating four sub-teams: Finance & Control, HR & Organisational Development, Impact Monitoring & Research and IT & Operations. This opens up a unique opportunity to step into the new role of Lead HR & Organisational Development to further develop our initiative.RoleThe Lead HR & Organisational Development provides strategic direction, guidance, and oversight in managing Rewilding Europe's human resources functions, ensures HR processes are executed well, fosters a positive and inclusive work culture and facilitates organisational development of our teams in the rewilding landscapes (separate legal entities). The position is both strategic and operational, with an estimated 2 days per week needed for administrative activities related to payroll, pensions and insurances for the Central Team.The Lead HR & Organisational Development manages the HR & Organisational Development team (consisting of the Lead and a part-time HR manager) and reports to the Finance & Operations Director. The position is based in the Netherlands.Main responsibilities
  • Manages and coaches the HR & Organisational Development team, sets performance targets and responsible for workload management;
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work culture;
  • Develops and implements HR policies and procedures (including maintenance of Rewilding Europe's HR manual);
  • Ensures compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations in multiple European countries;
  • Coordinates the recruitment of new employees;
  • Prepares and amends employee contracts;
  • Maintains and applies Rewilding Europe's remuneration framework;
  • Manages pension schemes and staff related insurances;
  • Manages the monthly payroll and prepares (financial) reports;
  • Manages performance management (process and tools);
  • Oversees and enables staff development initiatives;
  • Provides HR advice to partner organisations in the rewilding landscapes;
  • Facilitates organisational development of partner organisations in the rewilding landscapes;
  • Manages relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers involved in HR and Organisational Development;
Key qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • At least 8 years' experience in HR roles;
  • At least 3 years' experience in a management or leadership role;
  • Excellent knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations;
  • Experience with payroll processing;
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity;
  • Experienced in intercultural communication;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Human Resources Information Systems
  • Full proficiency in Dutch and English (read, written, and spoken) is required.

  • Rewilding Europe is a professional and dynamic organisation with a friendly working culture. We offer competitive salaries, commensurate with background, expertise, level of experience, and country of residence.
  • The position is graded in salary scale 9 with the salary structure of Rewilding Europe ranging from scale 4 to scale 11.
