www.discovery.edu.hkJOB DESCRIPTIONDiscovery College is searching for a Theatre Technician who is responsible for working with the music technician, teachers and students to support and help plan technical design, set design and construction for performances, plays, assemblies etc.Responsibilities
- The role requires knowledge and experience with lighting, and familiarity with Theatre lighting specifically; rigging, maintaining, and staging in both large spaces and smaller studios
- Maintenance of the theatre space, equipment such as light rigs, lumieres, cabling and electronics
- To support the smooth running of the Theatre department, students and the whole school as required
- To provide technical support (mainly light and projection) to the whole school
- Support in the design, planning and implementation of lighting, sound, set, and props with teachers and students for events including college-wide productions to singular presentations
- Attend meetings as necessary to be aware of upcoming events and curricular needs
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of learning material, equipment and resources for the Theatre department
- Maintenance of the sound and light equipment in Theatre studios
- Assist with the preparation and display of student work and completing administrative tasks for the Theatre department
- Support teaching and learning through classroom assistance
- Technical support to staff and students relating to Theatre department equipment and operation
