- Performs periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures. Documents results of all maintenance actions electronically through Navy’s record keeping system.
- Troubleshoots and repairs systems/equipment by reading and interpreting electronic/mechanical schematics by using simple and complex test equipment.
- Assists in preparing and developing new local procedures, procedural changes, and modification proposals.
- Must be able to be certified to handle, install and check-out aerial target related ordnance.
- Configure/install augmentation equipment, checks-out, calibrate, modify, and perform acceptance tests on target drones and associated ground support equipment.
- Support all phases of target operation to include target assembly, operational checks, launch and decontamination of targets.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Shop, Target Launch Facilities, outside work environment at various locations throughout PMRF and deployment at sea.
- Extended operational hours and occasional weekend/holiday activity during sustained periods of surge mission support.
- Lifting. Pushing, and pulling of 25-50 lbs.
- Work positions requirements: walking, standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped, work requiring repeated stooping, or frequent climbing, and sitting.
- Working environment activities: Customer contact, extended workday, field assignment, and inclement weather.
- High School diploma or equivalent plus one of the below:
- An associate degree in related field OR
- Equivalent training, (e.g., 2-year technical school)
- Two-year experience in a related field of assignment.
- Possess thorough knowledge of electronics theory and be proficient in reading and interpreting complicated schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repair to the component level.
- Possess or be able to obtain ordnance certification.
- Must possess or be able to demonstrate the following PC skills: MS: Word and Outlook
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
