- Design equipment structures efficiently in terms of time and cost.
- Create weldments for machine frames or components for further machining.
- Generate prints for CNC machine manufacturing.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and approve reports.
- Teach and mentor Mechanical Engineer I's.
- Collaborate with the shop for design implementation.
- Design complex hydraulic circuits based on fluid power principles.
- Implement hydraulic circuits from schematics and guide Engineer I & IIs.
- Select appropriate hydraulic components based on application, availability, and cost.
- Generate bills of material (BOM) and upload to ERP system.
- Design motion equipment using ball screws, planetary roller screws, and belt-driven actuators.
- Collaborate with vendors and the electrical team to size servo motors and power transmission components.
- Create accurate models of components and accessories.
- Generate bills of material (BOM) and upload to ERP system.
- Understand various dimensioning and tolerancing methods on prints.
- Interpret tolerance stack-ups and minimize cost implications.
- Assist Engineer I/II in applying GD&T properly.
- Proof designs by less experienced engineers.
- Lead design review meetings, ensuring criteria are met.
- Guide designs for improved efficiencies and cost impact.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and mentor less experienced engineers during startup.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 7-10 years industry experience without a bachelor’s degree.
- Solidworks experience required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Self-starter adaptable to working independently and within a team.
