To learn more about our programs and read our entire Corporate Social Responsibility report, clickJob DescriptionThe Director of Community Mental Health Services is responsible to develop an internal system that will support the growth, sustainability, and outcomes of all WCHI Mental Health Services and Family Wellness Center programs. The Director of Community Mental Health Services serves under the Sr. Director of Clinical Operations and is responsible for the overall day-to-day direct clinical leadership of WCHI behavioral health programs and consultative oversight of partner school Social Workers. The Director of Community Mental Health Services is expected to maintain a patient caseload, size to be determined by the Director in collaboration with their supervisor.
  • Manage a team of Social Workers and Therapists, serve as both a manager and a mentor to drive excellent staff performance.
  • Manage the Family Wellness Center, School-based Social Workers, Lead Therapists, and Therapists, and serve as both a manager and a mentor to drive excellent staff performance and deliver high-quality services that are sensitive to diverse populations.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new programs enhancing quality of care and services for at-risk individuals, individuals with disabilities, and families. Primary focus on overseeing school student stress support.
  • Consultative oversight of Clinical School Social Workers responsible for working collaboratively with partners to develop and implement treatment plans that support our partners with the Student Stress Support Program
  • Consult and support the Clinical Social Worker in providing the necessary crisis intervention, student/family intervention, home visits, absenteeism monitor/truancy, high risk screening, brief counseling, referring for financial or other identified resource needs, arrange and facilitating student/family representative meetings with appropriate agencies or community resources when high risk students/individuals are identified.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with the community, establish partnerships with mental health, substance abuse, employment, health, housing retention, and other services that will benefit our residents.
  • Perform client centered interventions and crisis-oriented counseling as needed and conduct individual, group, and family counseling or support sessions as appropriate.
  • Provide direction to staff in areas such as new policies, procedures, regulations, and new therapeutic modalities, including traditional healing activities.
  • Audit and ensure the timely documentation and submission of all reporting and data documents.
  • Travel is required to Lost Hills clinic, Delano clinic, Avenal clinic, Student Wellness Center, and Mobile clinic.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Experienced in practicing from culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. Experienced in working with underserved populations, including children, high-risk youth, and immigrants.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other departments, patients, city staff, program partners, key stakeholders, and the public.
  • Well-developed psychosocial assessment and crisis intervention skills.
  • Supervision, mentoring and coaching of others, progressive discipline.
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA rules and compliance requirements
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field, required.
  • Current and valid license issued by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LMFT, LCSW or LPCC).
  • 10+ years' experience as a licensed clinician including experience in therapy, program management and development, staff supervision and training, budgeting and funding, partnership development, clinical intervention, and case management.
  • 5+ years' experience managing a team and providing supervision.
  • 2+ years' experience of School Social Work and FERPA
  • Candidate must have available transportation and current California driver's license and insurance.

  • Pay Range: $165,000 - $170,000 and is eligible for a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience. Additionally, this position is eligible for a monthly car allowance.
