- Prefer previous experience in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment
- No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment
- Current license to practice medicine in Oregon
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working
- Additional specific DEA credentials may be required, per state and clinic regulations or policy
- Makes a comprehensive physical assessment of patients consistent with training and education;
- Performs physical examinations on patients admitted for medication maintenance;
- Ensures physician medication orders are being followed. Refers patients to appropriate physicians and consults with the supervising physician;
- Evaluates patient care, adjusting the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic test results, and patient feedback;
- Provides patient and staff education on medication maintenance;
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policy and procedure;
- Maintains and expands knowledge base in accordance with the requirements necessary to maintain professional certification as a Physician Assistant; and,
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of Physician Assistant program from an accredited college or university
- Previous experience in a substance abuse treatment clinic preferred
- No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment
- Board certified Physician Assisant.
- Licensed Physician Assistant able to practice in state where the clinic operates.
- DEA license.
