- Master's or doctoral degree or commensurate experience in public health, sociology, public policy, or related field
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and primary and secondary data analysis.
- Experience leading quantitative and qualitative data collection efforts such as surveys, focus groups, semi-structured interviews, or related projects, including questionnaire and interview or focus group protocol development, transcript coding, and analysis.
- Experience leading or facilitating research to advance health equity and intersectional racial justice.
- Experience with scientific manuscript writing and data analysis in an academic or research setting.
- Experience with performing and summarizing scientific literature reviews.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Stata, R, SAS, NVivo, Atlas.ti, Dedoose, webQDA, or other quantitative or qualitative data analysis software.
- Understanding of principles of epidemiological study design and execution, and of quantitative data analysis.
- Understanding of principles of community-based participatory research design and execution.
- Experience with program evaluation or implementation science.
- Experience obtaining, managing, and/or analyzing large datasets for multidisciplinary research projects.
- Experience with GIS methods to examine spatiotemporal patterns of events under study.
- Experience with hypothesis-driven data analysis, including linear and logistic regression and non-parametric regression.
- Evidence of significant contributions to published research, manifested by authorship.
- Knowledge of public health surveillance databases.
- Knowledge and application of project management principles and concepts.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to University and departmental policies and procedures, and/or Sponsor requirements for maintaining confidentiality of all private information (clinical, criminal, and personal).
- Possession of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills appropriate to project coordination responsibilities.
- Possession of skills in facilitating collaboration with a variety of stakeholders with different priorities for project outcomes.
- Ability to independently learn new statistical and epidemiologic methods and become proficient in new software packages to apply in epidemiologic studies.
