Responsibilities
- Develop visuals and content for ongoing social media postings and the website; draft visuals and content for the e-newsletter and e-blasts.
- Develop, implement, and manage social media content plans and campaigns using Twitter and LinkedIn, including drafting posts, in close collaboration with SEED program staff.
- Create social media toolkits for use by other small business program staff at NIH Institutes and Centers.
- Collaborate with various departments and NIH counterparts on digital initiatives.
- Participates in overall engagement through the SEED website and other major social media platforms and tracks metrics to monitor changes in engagement and total consumption of SEED content across the board. Evaluates metrics and content consumption to guide new content development.
- Monitor day-to-day activities and community engagement on all platforms.
- Help develop and manage monthly and quarterly digital editorial calendars.
- Analyze campaign and content performance regularly, develop reports to identify trends and opportunities, and recommend/implement changes to current strategies to improve results. Familiarity with social listening tools a plus.
- May be called upon to assist with projects outside of his or her main duties as necessary and appropriate.
- 2-3 years of proven social media communications experience.
- Will only consider candidates with strong LinkedIn profiles and who can provide links to social media channels managed.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or other relevant field(s) required.
- In addition to social media experience, email marketing, website content production, and other digital communications experiences are a plus.
- Strong social media project management.
- An interest in or flair for telling compelling stories of science in the digital space.
- Focused and motivated self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working on multiple projects with deadline pressures and competing priorities
- Excellent writing, design, and editing skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite required, experience with other design software, including GovDelivery a plus.
