Owned by FOX Corporation, FOX News Media reaches 200 million people each month.Fox News Digital is looking for an Associate Homepage and Social Media Editor. The Homepage and Social Media Team is responsible for programming the homepages of FoxNews.com, and FoxBusiness.com, as well as their social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn.As an Associate Homepage and Social Media Editor, you will be engaged in newsgathering, and the creation of new, unique elements to illustrate stories, including crafting thought-provoking imagery. You will be monitoring live streams, as well as producing posts for social media. And, in coordination with other editors, you will ensure breaking news is distributed accurately, fairly, and quickly across all platforms. In addition, you will be responsible for tracking real-time analytics throughout your shift and adjusting strategies accordingly. You’re a self-starter with strong news judgment who thrives under pressure.Flexibility in your schedule is vital to this role and you will be required to work at least one weekend shift each week, in addition to some holidays.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:Write engaging headlines for both the FoxNews.com homepage and FoxBusiness.com homepageUse a mix of news judgment and metrics to determine story placementUse a variety of tools to distribute content across platformsHeadline and image test all placements on both homepages to drive KPIsMust have a firm grasp of current events and a desire to be precise, quick, and accurate in presenting the news to the vast FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com audienceLaunch and monitor live streams and press conferences for use on the FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com homepagesConsistently and accurately compile and distribute daily analytics reportsMust be willing to work closely with editors and fellow reportersParticipate in broader strategic discussionsWHAT YOU WILL NEED:A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience2+ years of newsroom experienceStrong news judgment and knowledge of current eventsExperience writing on deadline for a major news websiteThe capability of being a skilled, fast writer and self-editorStrong organizational and time management skillsExceptional attention to detailPhotoshop, Canva, and prior experience working in a CMS preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
