We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, act with integrity, and who support inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career.This is a temporary opportunity for 12-18 months.Reporting to the Director, HRBP Ag Solutions Global Operations, this position will work closely with management and employees, providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues: talent management, employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development, and training. This position plays an essential role in establishing and driving HR programs/talent initiatives forward, while always ensuring they align with a company's business objectives.What you will do:
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth
  • Offer thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution
  • Educate, coach, and partner with managers on the interpretation and use of HR policies, processes, and programs
  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development
  • Work in partnership with HR Centers of Excellence (HR Shared Service Centre, Total Rewards, Talent and Organizational Development, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) to develop or update strategies, programs or policies and to implement same
  • Assist in the implementation of company and business unit HR strategies, programs and processes (e.g. on-going salary administration and annual compensation cycle, benefit programs, performance management, new employee on-boarding and off-boarding activities for departing employees)
  • Analyze results of exit interviews, recruitment feedback and employee surveys to identify people issues and trends and participate in action planning
  • Support and respond to both leaders and employees on HR inquiries, complaints and processes as it relates to the full lifecycle of an employee
  • Conduct research and analysis in support of HR related strategies, programs and projects
  • Lead or participate in investigations, issues related to collective agreements, bargaining, preparing for hearings, grievances and arbitrations, as well as labour relations strategies
  • Develop, analyze and interpret various types of employee data to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions to their client group
  • Collaborate with the broader HR team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results
  • Work in partnership with the Nutrien's global HR teams to enable Nutrien Ag Solutions' Operations strategy through the development and implementation of strategies and programs
  • Lead, champion, and comply with Nutrien, industry regulatory, and SH&E standards
  • Utilize and leverage available digital technologies to complete work accurately and efficiently
  • Perform other related duties, as required
What will you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, agriculture, business, marketing, or a related field
  • 3-8 years of HR experience. Candidates with a minimum of 6 years of HR experience may be considered for a Senior Advisor position
  • Exceptional critical and strategic thinking, attention to detail and takes initiative
  • Strong analytic and quantitative skills with an ability to translate data in to relevant and visually compelling business information
  • Collaboration across functional and geographic boundaries with excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding communication capabilities, and the ability to influence others at all organizational levels
  • Experience in a union environment and in collective bargaining
  • Strong team player who has experience working in multi-faceted/national/international environments
  • Strong HR and business acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, professional demeanor, and positive attitude;
  • Superior computer literacy using MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint, SAP, EZ Labour, Work Force, Success Factors
  • Willingness to learn, teach and share information with teammates, peers, and management
  • Excellent organizational, project and time management skills
  • Ability to travel nationally/internationally
