- Lead the talent acquisition efforts including developing job descriptions, sourcing/hiring, recruiting fairs, orientation, development, and retention procedures to support the company's growth.
- Maintain good rapport and working relationships with employees and supervisors in an effort to prevent, resolve, and/or cope with personnel issues affecting the workplace. Serve as a resource to leaders in handling and resolution of personnel and/or performance issues and advise on best practices.
- Manage the day-to-day labor relations environment. Develop strong working relationships with Union representatives. Administer the Union Contract and associated working rules. Work closely with leaders to perform investigations and manage the related accountability processes.
- Administer all benefits for the location; oversee the open enrollment process, ensure proper onboarding and exit processes including COBRA and related administration.
- Develop, drive, and improve HR processes for the plant. Drive standard metrics and dashboards and insert best practices for report-out, ensuring data integrity.
- Lead the operational administration of the performance management process. Oversee the process and tools to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Support training and development efforts across all levels of the site. Administer training, work with leaders to identify training needs, and recommend training solutions.
- Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety department to support behavior-based safety processes, employee training, evacuation procedures, and physical/mental requirements of all plant positions.
- Administer company policies and ensure compliance. Maintain knowledge of up-to-date employment and labor law and make recommendations for best practices. Assure plant compliance and advise managers on organizational policy matters such as legal compliance, employee relations, EEO, harassment/discrimination issues, FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and FLSA.
- Maintain strong connections with educational and community members to promote and enhance the company's brand.
- Coordinate special events such as employee recognition programs, employee activities, etc.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree
- HR experience supporting a unionized manufacturing facility preferred
- A successful candidate will have spent ample time working in an HR business partner role
- Proactive, responsive, and engaged. Driven and takes personal accountability. High energy.
- Establishes a high degree of personal accountability and fosters an environment of collaboration
- Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish
- Union experience would be very helpful
- Strong negotiating and decision-making skills; CBA negotiation exposure helpful
- Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
