- Provide ongoing strategic oversight, recommendations for continuous process improvement and working collaboratively with the Billing & Collections management teams to maximize Fastly's accounts receivable
- Implement changes, improvements and execute strategies to improve credit and collections methods and procedures as needed
- Monitor and track accounts receivable on a daily basis, and collaborate with finance teams to compile monthly collection data and projections
- Collaborate with billing team to identify and streamline process efficiencies for more effective collections
- Foster and maintain customer relationships to ensure prompt resolution and payment, and resolve outstanding discrepancies
- Work with Sales and Account Management teams in the management of accounts receivable, keeping them informed of potential collection issues as well as advising them on collections strategies in bringing delinquent accounts current
- Act as a resource in the research and resolution of payment issues in order to prevent further aging of delinquent balances
- Monitor counterparty credit profiles, delinquent accounts and prepare management reporting on high risk accounts to ensure effective management of accounts receivable
- Lead team to manage workflow, coordinate assignments to meet deadlines and drive collection initiatives aimed at reducing loss while minimizing exposure to counterparty and credit risk
- Familiarity with Accounting Standards and Codification frameworks as relates to Accounts Receivable and Collections
- Conduct regular staff meetings to review key accounts, A/R issues, implement strategy, and guide workflows
- Be a team player that can effectively delegate but also is able to assist and perform day to day functions that may be required
- Perform supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, training, managing contractors, scheduling time-off requests, evaluating job performance, and conducting yearly performance evaluations team
- Set performance standards and goals; coach and develop staff to increase efficiency and deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
- Ensure effective administration and communication of departmental and Fastly policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned including leading various special projects and ad-hoc assignments
- Bachelor's degree required. Collections and AR professional certifications are a plus. Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 6 to 10 years of collections and AR experience in a professional services organization required; 2+ years of collections management experience supervising a team required
- Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
- Proficiency in G-Suite as well as Microsoft applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to fully utilize tools to compile and analyze data and provide recommendations based on analysis
- Can organize, prioritize, plan, and handle competing demands, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high-pressure and visible environment
- Ability to lead, direct, train and manage professional staff including contractors
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel of Fastly
