The role of the Accountant is to perform the daily maintenance of accounting records and preparation of routine financial reports. This includes coordinating all financial areas of the credit union to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, managing purchasing, forms, equipment, and supply inventories to ensure adequate coverage for all corporate and branch staff, and all other related tasks. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel, is a must! They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. Reviewing, identifying, analyzing and recommending department processes, products/services to improve and maintain the highest level of operational efficiency and profitability
Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance as related to operational processes and products.
Cooperating with internal and external auditors/examiners on findings, tracking, follow-up, and preparation for operations, document management, and facilities
Overseeing management of member files for compliance with record retention regulations and protection of member information
Maintaining source documents needed for GL verifications and wire transfers
Accountant Skills and qualifications include:
BS or BA in Accounting or relevant field.
Equivalent and related experience may be considered in lieu of education
1 year of experience in accounting, balancing general ledgers, and accounts receivable
Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
