In addition to our many commercial clients, OptumInsight capabilities and technologies are leveraged by OptumHealth, OptumRx and our sister company UnitedHealthcare.As the Application Data Integration Interface Lead you will be supporting Optum’s MPP (Market Performance Partnership) Clients to transition to Optum’s Health System IT Operating model and Standardize, Optimize & Modernize the way Integration Interface Systems are leveraged efficiently and effectively move data into and /or out of Electronic Health Record (EHR), basis various application workload needs within regulatory/compliance guidelines.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Management of Application & Data Integration function, technical platforms, and team. This role will collaborate with senior IT and business stakeholders to oversee the delivery and operations of data and application integration solutions in support of business and technology projects. This role will direct IT management, employees and vendors supporting the data integration / Application interface team delivery
  • To be successful in this role the Director of Application / Data Integration Infaces lead will ensure team processes/procedures/standards are in place to facilitate planning, delivery, and operations of integration platform technology
  • Provides leadership and ongoing management of the IT Integration COE team. Ensures staff, skills and other resource needs are in place to support full SDLC and operations of enterprise integration technology. Manages vendors for to enterprise integration services and products
  • Defining and ongoing ownership of enterprise integration protocols organized via COE process/procedure/SDLC for supporting integration needs; includes project intake, estimation, design/coding/deployment standards and maintaining technology stack
  • Collaborates with senior IT and business leaders to ensure that ongoing enterprise integration capabilities are aligned with the organization's annual and strategic goals
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture on maintaining integration reference architecture, standards, and guidelines to ensure enterprise fit, security, compliance, etc.
  • Enterprise integration platform operations and ongoing definition and measurement of SLA's, KPI's and other operational objectives are met
  • Provides leadership and guidance for data integration team to with other project teams for delivery of application integration project needs through defined processes and standards; provides ongoing adjustments of process and standards as need to meeting changing needs
  • Guides team for continual work with Enterprise Architecture team to define/refine the data integration design/coding/deployment/operational standards and technology stack
  • Regularly communicates integration technology target state, roadmap and development progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Develop and/or lead change management efforts across all phases of projects and initiatives to drive the Firm's culture of continuous improvement

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise IT function; preferred solid experience in application development, EAI, data integration, API management technologies
  • 10+ years of experience managing IT teams involved in the development and operation of application and data integration technology
  • 5+ years of HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) experience and EHR standards
  • Experience with performing data mapping exercise for clinical data from the source system to FHIR data model
  • Experience in designing and ongoing monitoring of performance and quality reports for FHIR
  • Experience with SDLC and project management approaches including use of tools such as Jira and MS Project to manage project phases including intake, estimating, requirements, etc.
  • Experience with enterprise IT service management techniques, e.g., ITIL, change management, etc.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data, including clinical data in both proprietary and industry-standard formats (HL7)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
