Apollo supports some of the largest GraphQL platforms in the world.As a Staff Data Analyst on Apollo's Data team, you will take ownership of generating critical insights that will shape our product strategy and define the future of GraphOS. Your expertise will empower our Product, Design, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to make informed decisions and deliver exceptional experiences to the leading companies adopting GraphQL today. You will be the subject matter expert on metrics and success measurement, experiment design and A/B testing, and visual storytelling via data.What you'll do
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Design to define and analyze KPIs to understand product performance and generate a deep understanding of our customers and their usage patterns.
  • Present visual data stories & written analysis to Executive stakeholders to highlight opportunities for data-informed hypotheses and validated learnings, to create more informed decisions.
  • Create dashboards and statistical analyses that generate actionable insights that impact conversion, retention, and engagement within our product.
  • Design and implement experiments to validate product hypotheses, refining and enforcing best practices for product experimentation and analysis.
  • Partner with Software, Data, and Analytics Engineers to identify gaps in instrumentation, QA-modeled data, and implement best-in-class analytical frameworks.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and initiate new analytics projects that drive company OKRs.
  • Champion a data-driven culture and increase product data fluency at Apollo
Who you are
  • Experience working at a B2B SaaS and/or a developer platform product company
  • Experience in Product Analytics or a data-related role working with large datasets and multiple data sources and utilizing statistical techniques
  • Strong technical skills for querying complex datasets: Fluent in advanced, analytical SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R for data analysis
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests to guide product decisions
  • Experience working in a data warehouse and a data lake and using BI tooling such as Looker, Tableau, Mode, and Metabase to produce clear and actionable insights
  • A natural curiosity and investigative mindset - a drive to know “why” and think outside the box
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey highly technical concepts to business stakeholders
Nice to have
  • Experience with Airflow, dbt, Hightouch, BigQuery/GCP, Amplitude
  • Experience with predictive analytics or a desire to learn
