- Participates in the activities in the procurement of Hospital supplies, taking into consideration identified priorities of group purchase contracts, vendors, price, and need.
- Consults with the System Director of Materials Management, Purchasing Manager, and the Storeroom Manager regarding activities of the department.
- Assesses priorities regarding procurement activities.
- Purchases designated or assigned materials, supplies, and equipment for health system accurately and timely.
- Recognizes the importance of maintaining adequate stock levels for supplies that have been designated or assigned.
- Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
- Healthcare purchasing experience is preferred.
- Basic accounting knowledge required.
- Knowledge of computer inventory systems.
- Health care operations experience also helpful.
- Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
- Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communication.
- Must have exceptional follow-up skills for all sales and business relationships.
- Flexible in work schedule, as required.
