- Oversee crop treatments for control and prevention of pests and disease and establish and lead an effective IPM program for the facility.
- Execute preventative and reactive pest and disease controls including applications (sprays) of chemicals and bios, according to schedule and need.
- Place and track orders/deliveries of pesticide sprays and IPM insect orders
- Scout and inspect crop for evidence of disease or harmful pests; diagnose and report any plant health issues; assist Cultivation Team with Quality evaluations on all crops (Clone to Harvest)
- Monitor pest ecosystems to evaluate the presence of pest species, natural pest predators, and conditions that may contribute to pest problems.
- Utilize traps, allowable chemical, and non-chemical methods to manage pests.
- Oversee the preparation and mixing of pest control products. Mixes, applies, and monitors various recommended chemicals, fertilizers, compounds, and baits to be used to treat, eliminate, or control specific conditions found; implements beneficial insects' program in compliance with State law.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Ensure that bio inventory is up to par, prepare and manage lot logs (required for lot releases and sales), evaluates needed supplies, and keeps diligent records of chemicals and applications.
- Assist on product label updates and SOP updates as required.
- Monitoring and making sure Biosecurity is being implemented and followed by cultivation team and make recommendations when needed.
- Communicate and report findings to Cultivation Manager and Director of Cultivation
- May assist the cultivation team with tasks, plant health, cleanings, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of horticultural disease and pest/pathogen identification; degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of previous experience in Agricultural Pest Control in greenhouse and/or indoor grows.
- Pesticide Applicator License preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive actions with a high level of accuracy over time.
- Ability to use a computer and to learn new programs for accurate record keeping.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours.
- Ability to use repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms.
- Manual dexterity at a level sufficient to operate small tools such as scissors.
- High School Diploma
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must maintain Good Agricultural Practices and complete a certified GAP course.
