We are currently seeking a Senior Scientist for the Molecular Technology team. The full-time position is located onsite, in Beijing, China, in the Innovation Center. As a Senior Scientist, you will design and implement scientific experiments to validate relevant agricultural molecular technology.You will help meet the world's most pressing needs by:
  • Designing and executing experiments in technology development
Accountabilities
  • Engage in project planning and execution of research projects
  • Coordinate project activities within function and ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project
  • Perform dedicated work in laboratory or greenhouse to deliver high-quality data packages to support project decision making
  • Pursue and generate Syngenta intellectual property
  • Perform activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines

  • PhD in Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Breeding, Genomic Studies
  • 3+ years of experience working in relevant fields
  • Knowledge of Classical Breeding and new Breeding technology; Classical, cellular, and molecular genetics; Cell biology; and Agricultural Biotechnology
  • Broad Knowledge in crop improvements via genomic editing
  • Bilingual: Mandarin and English
Preferred Requirements
  • Direct experience in experimental design and execution to meet challenges in genomic editing technology
  • Data mining proficiency and use of various bioinformatics tools to identify and analyze genes
  • Direct experience in using molecular biology analysis software
  • Scientific Project Planning, executing, and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge in handling project change and delivery in a rapidly changing environment
