This company is part of a global organisation responsible for the development of chemicals for the medical device, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. You will work closely within the engineering department developing and implementing engineering projects.The role will span participating in HAZOP and COHA assessments, preparation of phase appropriate validation documentation and implementation, commissioning and operation of plant and associated systems to industrial and pharmaceutical standards appropriate for non-GMP ISO systems.The role will also encompass involvement in Process Safety, process and product development, project management, continuous improvement and maintenance activities.This is a permanent, onsite position in Athlone.About Your New Job as a Chemical Engineer:
  • Work within the engineering department facilitating the introduction of new items of process and utility equipment in line with best practice.
  • Work as part of a team through completion of COHA and HAZOP for all engineering aspects of process preparation and safety.
  • Work within a team to perform phase appropriate validation and the installation of new equipment on plant & pilot plant.
  • Carry out engineering feasibility studies of existing systems as deemed appropriate by manager.
  • Work with the development chemistry teams in the development of processes that are suitable and robust to transfer to pilot plant/kilo lab through COHA assessment and provide on-going project support.
  • Identify root cause of any engineering and chemical engineering problems and identify and implement viable solutions.
  • Prepare P&IDs for existing and new process equipment and adhere to document control in line with current SOP.
  • Perform development and management of process control documentation in line with current SOP and best practice.
What Skills You Need:
  • Honour's Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering (NFQ, 240 credits) required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience required in a similar role in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated of experience of managing projects from beginning to end.
