JOB SUMMARYThe Internship program allows current college students to work within the Orange County Sheriff's Office to better prepare themselves for their chosen career. This internship program requires the intern to receive college credits from their academic institute and may be paid or unpaid. All Interns will assist agency employees in performing a variety of job tasks to gain valuable job experience.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDevelops an understanding of the agency and law enforcement in general. Develops a greater understanding of their chosen profession.Gains on-the-job experience by working in their selected field.Under the supervision of experienced agency employees, performs job tasks required by the specific Division/Unit. Assists Division/Unit with workload. Performs special projects/assignments as needed.Other duties may be assignedMinimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
  • Must currently be in junior or senior year of college.
  • Students wishing to participate in an internship program must meet the following requirements:
  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • Be in good standing with the college or university
  • Have at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony
  • Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence
  • No illegal drug usage within the last year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
