  • You will report financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.
  • You will analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • You will evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • You will utilize Microsoft Excel, data query/data management tools, and Financial Systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • You will apply fiscal law to review and conduct Purpose, Time and Amount reviews of purchase requests.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
QualificationsGS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing financial performance data and budgetary issues to identify trends, develop reports, alternative financial solutions, and funding projections for programs in which requirements have changed significantly.GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:interpreting financial regulations, policies and operating instructions to utilize financial systems or financial data management tools, research and compile data, and perform financial analysis against forecasts or budgets for an organization.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).   • Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
  • Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. ?
For the GS-09 grade level:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled; OR
