- Responsible for: Receiving general instructions regarding assignments and exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
- Responsible for: Directing and assigning specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assisting in all phases of the construction project, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
- Responsible for: Progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.
- Prepare construction inspection summaries of daily activities
- Review drawings, specifications, and other contract documents for constructability (plans, specs, shop drawings)
- Review detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work
- Track / measure completed work quantities for payment
- Manage the team of inspectors, coordinate their schedules and oversee their work and records
- Coordinate and communicate material testing requirements on the project. Oversee and accept project sampling and testing of component materials and completed work
- Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
- Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
- Verify the dimensions and calculations of prepared and completed work
- Analyze complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel
- Inform Client on project issues and provide them with recommendations
- Interact with Project Managers and clients in a proactive manner to determine what routine issues affecting project management need to be addressed
- Maintain construction project records in accordance with GDOT and project specific procedures
- Interface proactively with the project managers, contractors, and inspection staff on various facets of the project including review of contract plans and documents, day-to-day construction activities and review of contractors’ submittals
- Perform/oversee the review of daily inspection reports and quantity computations
- Directs and assigns specific tasks to inspectors and assists in all phases of the construction project
- Responsible for the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration
- Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 9 years of experience required.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
- Complete Annual Individual Training Program
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
- Establish strong working relationship with client, contractors, and design engineers
- Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target
- Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
- Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
- Assist in negotiating contractor change orders
- Maintain document control for correspondence, RFIs, submittals, etc.
