POSITION SUMMARYProvides training, audit, and billing education services to providers. Ensures medical service documentation and coding conforms to guidelines and regulations. Responsible for handling high level assignments such as auditing of coding, compliance and provides education to physicians and other qualified health care providers regarding coding and documentation.ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Develop and coordinate an educational plan that encompasses accurate documentation, coding and billing procedures based on specialty.2. Provide regular audits of provider documentation/coding accuracy; summarize information and make suggestions to improve process.3. Recognize inaccurate dictation and documentation trends and issues of both physicians and clinical staff and collaborates with the office manager/operations director, physicians and staff to correct.4. Provides scheduled educational seminars regarding coding/billing updates and changes.5. Works with providers one-on-one to facilitate accurate documentation and coding.6. Provides coding education to billing staff, as needed.7. Works with billing manager in the coordination of appeals to obtain appropriate and/or additional reimbursement.8. Communicates and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with Billing manager, operations director, physicians and staff.9. Other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Associate degree in related fieldSkills: Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requiresstrong commitment to customer service and effective interpersonal skills. Must be detail orientedand have the ability to work independently. Extensive experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding.Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years coding experience with physicians coding.
