- Install, assemble, and mount HVAC equipment, including air conditioning units, furnaces, ventilation systems, and related components, including understanding electrical and mechanical components according to specifications and building codes.
- Pipefitting/Brazing/Soldering: Proficient in pipefitting techniques and soldering/brazing processes, ensuring proper installation and connection of pipes for refrigerant piping especially.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate and efficient installation of HVAC systems.
- Team Collaboration: Works well in a team environment, coordinating with other construction professionals and collaborating effectively to achieve seamless integration of HVAC systems within overall construction projects.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Capable of identifying and resolving issues during installation, demonstrating problem-solving abilities in various HVAC scenarios.
- Attention to Detail: Pays meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision in measurements, fittings, and overall system installation, minimizing errors and optimizing efficiency.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components.
- Replace filters, belts, motors, and other parts to maintain optimal system performance.
- Identify potential issues or inefficiencies and recommend solutions to prevent future problems.
- Effectively replace and repair faulty parts, ensuring the safe and proper operation of HVAC systems.
- Keep accurate records of replaced parts, repairs performed, and maintenance activities.
- Interact with clients professionally and courteously, addressing their concerns, explaining maintenance procedures, and providing recommendations for system optimization.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on HVAC systems and using tools and equipment.
- Ensure all installations and maintenance activities meet industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Communicate equipment status, maintenance findings, and repair recommendations to supervisors and clients.
- Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to different HVAC systems, brands, and evolving industry technologies, staying current with advancements in the field.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC vocational training or apprenticeship program preferred.
- Relevant HVAC certification or license (EPA 608 certification, for example).
- Proven experience in commercial HVAC installation, preventive maintenance, and parts replacement.
- Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time Management: Efficiently manages time to meet project deadlines, balancing speed with accuracy to ensure timely completion of HVAC installations.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in the HVAC industry.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Travel will be required.
