We also provide training and education to 150 young people each year who find mainstream education more difficult, as well as high-quality childcare within our community.Our team works hard to provide as much care and support for those who need it most, every day we make a difference.Salary - £11.88 per hourHours - 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, term time only (38 weeks per year)Location - Derwent Stepping Stones, St James Centre, Malcolm Street, NormantonTemporary 1 year maternity leaveThis is an exciting opportunity for you to join Derwent Stepping Stones; we are looking for an enthusiastic Qualified Lead Nursery Practitioner, who will provide the highest possible standard of care for all children aged 0 – 5 years. Remain responsive and progressive in the development and delivery of services that meet the needs of the local community, children and families.We are looking for a positive, vibrant individual with a passion for working with children to provide a fun, stimulating and positive environment to support children’s behaviour, learning and development.The role of a Lead Nursery Practitioner, you will be required to:
  • Lead role will be based in our 2–3-year room.
  • Responsible for 3 other members of staff within the room.
  • Making sure the room is run appropriately and to the managers standards.
  • Follow an ambitious curriculum.
  • Ensuring each staff member has a key person system in place.
  • Lead to their best ability to ensure to keep children safe and secure.
  • Carry out check ins with staff to make sure practice is of standards.
  • Able to use own initiative within the organization.
  • Work flexible to meet the needs of the nursery.
  • Maybe required to be lead on site in managers absence.
  • Take the lead of multi-agency working.
You will of course be supported and have the opportunity to develop and enhance your own skills along the way.Qualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years experience within early years
