Company DescriptionRESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks an experienced mining engineer located in our Reno, Nevada location. Remote work will be considered for the right candidate.Job DescriptionThe responsibilities for this position include evaluating geologic and resource models, complete mine pit optimizations, create pit designs, waste dump and road designs. Additional responsibilities include estimating equipment and personnel requirements, estimating capital and operating costs for projects, project economic evaluation, preparing technical reports, business development and project management. The successful candidate will work with junior engineering staff to manage mining-related projects. Domestic travel may be required for visits to client mine sites as well as for client and corporate meetings.Qualifications
  • At a minimum, a bachelor's degree in mining, geological or civil engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in mining engineering including mine planning and resource optimization with at least 4 years of experience in operations
  • Registered professional engineer or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Experience in mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, Minesched, Carlson and GIS)
  • Experience in pit optimization software required
  • Production planning and scheduling experience required (preference to Deswik or MineSched)
  • Proficient in programming skills preferred (e.g. TCL, Lisp, Visual Basic, and other programming languages)
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective oral and written communication skills.
Additional InformationCompensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise; salary range for this role is $100k-125k.
