- Lead and develop our OPEX Corporate Accounting team, overseeing the team of 2-3 responsible for the OPEX vendor accrual, prepaid and treasury accounting processes, both in and outside of close
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting, both through team management and working cross functionally with other Fastly teams
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX controls through detailed review of journal entries, account reconciliations, key controls and monthly/quarterly flux analysis
- Oversee execution of certain cross functional accounting team projects and systems, such as PBC deadline management for quarterly reviews and annual audits and our accrual automation system
- Identify potential SOX impacts from proposed process and systems changes in assigned areas, partnering with Internal Audit to update documentation including process flowcharts and risk and control matrix
- Assist SEC Reporting team with 10Q/K footnote reviews and annual accounting policy and convention updates for assigned areas
- Identify, propose and drive process and efficiency improvements to month-end close process and other accounting processes
- Other ad hoc projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manager-level leadership role at a publicly traded company
- Ability to think strategically, build cross functional relationships, and take initiative to drive results
- Passionate about leading and developing teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Audit experience and CPA a plus
- Big 4 experience a plus
- Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, Gappify and G-Suite a plus
