- Coordinating the creation of a preliminary bill of material in the business system and verifying its accuracy
- Create development testing requirements, development test instructions, and release of drawings for development hardware
- Maintain ongoing surveillance of customer-driven changes, with written notification to Contracts Administrator or Program Manager, including program impact assessment
- Ensure accuracy of all drawings/documents on the project, except purely drafting technique issues. This includes tolerance stack-ups
- Communicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to Engineering Manager / Director, Contracts Administrator, and Program Manager when applicable
- Manage all duties per ISO 9000: Procedure 4.1 Design Control
- Supervision/oversight of engineering assistants, documentation personnel, design and test personnel on project activities as required
- Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).
- Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization
- Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support company initiatives/goals

- This job interacts in a professional office environment, Engineering Lab, and manufacturing environments. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, hand tools, test equipment, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, ESD and foot protection (as required).
- This is a full-time position. Overtime and weekend may be required as job duties demand.
- Some travel may be expected for this position (20%) including Test Labs (e.g. EMI), vendor, and customer visits.
- B.S in Engineering is required as a minimum - Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent. Advanced technical degree is desirable for this position.
- 2-5 years design experience with a variety of valves and fluid control devices preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
- Solid analytical skills are required: stress analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow
- Ability to solve complex mechanical, static and dynamic problems
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and compressible flow
- Exposure to performing analytical solutions using tools such as ANSYS or Pro-E Mechanica
- Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all details
- High level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge
- Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Superior communication skills
- Defense/aerospace experience a plus
- This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, therefore you must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance
- Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
- Must be a US Citizen
- While performing the duties of this job, the Mechanical Engineer is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
- The Mechanical Engineer is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- The Mechanical Engineer is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
- The Mechanical Engineer may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
