Position SummaryUNM-Taos' Social and Behavioral Science Department invites applicants living in New Mexico to apply for Temporary Part time Faculty positions (Adjunct) to teach lower division courses in Psychology, Sociology, and Human Services/Counselor Education for the Social and Behavioral Sciences department.Preferred format for teaching is face to face instruction but will consider remote options. Flexibility in teaching days and times is encouraged (evenings, Fridays)These positions will be hired on an as needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. Potential courses include lower division courses in the above-mentioned disciplines found at the following links:Psychology :Sociology:Human Services/Counselor Education:COUN 1110 - Introduction to Human ServicesThis course provides a broad overview of the human services field. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in the discipline or subfield in which they are applying to teach. Applicant must have completed a program of study in the discipline or subfield in which they teach, with coursework at least one level above that of the courses being taught or developed (e.g., completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree).
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly community college experience.
- Successful experience in practice or field work (if applicable)
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
