Offer DescriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, mid-career Associate/Full professor with a proven track record in the field of cellular protein homeostasis. We are specifically seeking a candidate with expertise in the protein quality control systems responsible for managing the response to protein folding stress, and a keen interest in understanding of how these systems become compromised during aging to cause age-related diseases.RequirementsSpecific Requirements- Has a proven track record of conducting high quality and creative fundamental research.
- Pursues an independent line of research, using innovative approaches, research model systems and/or technologies.
- Has been successful in acquiring external funding.
- Has a broad (international) network.
- Has a collaborative spirit and interest to seek synergy with other research groups in BMS, UMCG and the RUG.
- Is a passionate teacher who can effectively convey knowledge of the field to new generations of professionals.
- Is an inspiring leader, able to build and coach a research group.Additional InformationBenefits- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience and expertise, based on a full-time appointment as associate/full professor.In addition, the UMCG will offer you 8% holiday pay, and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. BMS is part of the multidisciplinary research cluster Biomedical Sciences and Technology of the UMCG, together with the European Research Institute for the Biology of Aging and the Department of Biomedical Technology.
