Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity!About the unitThe Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit is a high-acuity 36 bed cardiac surgical unit focused on fostering continuous learning while developing high level critical thinking and technical skills. Registered Nurses maintain significant competencies to operate at the top of the nursing license. Specialty device training includes the management of long term left ventricular assist devices, right and left sided Impellas, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The unit supports a culture of engagement and professional growth by encouraging participation in unit/organizational committees, councils, and other professional organizations. Teamwork, accountability, and collaboration are common practice expectations. Registered Nurses and Nurse Technicians work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapy, amongst several other disciplines to ensure individualized high-quality care. Continuous quality improvement initiatives provide a landscape for innovation and drive the implementation of evidence-based practices. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. Qualifications
Associates in Nursing Required
Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
6+ months of inpatient RN experience preferred
