- Collaborate with a third party to develop materials and technologies for battery thermal management and protection against thermal runaway, ensuring the results meet PACCAR standards.
- Evaluate and assess various thermal management technologies to guide and enhance system designs.
- Work closely with PACCAR's purchasing and quality teams to identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers.
- Utilize a standardized phase/gate product creation process to deliver high quality engineering designs.
- Provide thermal engineering analysis and designs to support the expansion of EV applications into new market segments as customers adopt the technologies.
- Demonstrate innovation through effective collaboration and personal initiative.
- Support rapid troubleshooting and problem resolution related to battery system scope of responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Up to 20% travel (domestic and international).
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field required; Masters degree desired.
- 3-5 years related work experience
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and working experience in the development for automotive applications.
- Working experience in supporting the design of high-voltage battery thermal systems and supplier management.
- Experience in electric powertrain systems.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve timely objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
