- Cost control and vendor management
- Anticipation, Assessment, & Management of Risks related to Timing, Quality, and Cost
- Quote & Award business to the appropriate vendors per programs
- Cut Purchase Orders to vendors & resolve any payment issues
- Manage full-cycle Purchas Order Process (issuance, placement, follow up)
- Track status & shipments from vendors; ensure Distribution Center receipt for any US Finished Goods items
- Ensure that all L’Oreal USA Purchasing and ethical guidelines are followed. Obtain multiple bids from approved list of PSL per L’Oreal Sourcing policy
- Provide cost estimates to development and benchmark across brands
- Find ways to reduce costs by Buying Less, Buy Better and Buy Smart.
- Track savings and reports on a continuous basis
- Manage cost variances buy-over-buy for repeat items
- Strong focus on Sustainability Initiatives
- Optimize Purchasing Process, Tools, and Procedures
- Collaborate with indirect souring category leads
- Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends within the product development and sustainability discipline
- 8 - 10+ years’ experience in purchasing or project management work/quality experience, preferably in cosmetics, consumer goods or related field is required
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree, Business, Supply Chain, Project Management related degrees is required
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to handle various situations, multiple priorities, changing business needs as well as the diverse personalities within L’Oreal and the supplier community.
- Local travel to vendors and plants (15-20 %) is required
- Advanced experience in using Microsoft Excel required
- Team oriented and able to create strong relationships with all cross-functional teams
- Ability to escalate issues to management in a timely manner
- Preferred experience managing budgets and being involved with cost savings initiatives and value analysis projects
- High degree of financial and analytical aptitude preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
- Salary Range: $140,100 - $172,720 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
